It has been an incredible journey for Gofere Travels over the past year and a half. We’ve had the privilege of serving thousands of travelers, offering over 160 unique trips organized by more than 35 amazing hosts, and selling over 500 tickets. With over 3.6 million birr transacted, we are truly grateful to every customer who trusted us with their travel dreams and plans. But, as with any journey, the road can sometimes be unpredictable, and we have made the difficult decision to pause our operations—for now.
From the very beginning, Gofere Travels was about more than just organizing trips. Our mission was to make traveling easier, more enjoyable, and meaningful. We wanted to be the bridge between people and their adventures, whether it was reconnecting with loved ones or exploring new and exciting places. Unfortunately, the current climate has made this mission harder than we anticipated. Safety concerns surrounding travel have caused many to hesitate, and despite our best efforts to ensure safe, enjoyable trips, we can’t change how people feel right now.
As a result, we’ve decided to pause our services—not because we want to, but because it’s the best decision to safeguard the future of Gofere Travels. This pause will allow us to reflect, reorganize, and hopefully return stronger, better prepared to serve you in the future.
We fought hard to keep going. We offered special services for families and friends, ensuring smooth, personalized travel experiences. We tried everything we could to overcome the many challenges thrown our way, but many of the obstacles were beyond our control. After much reflection, we realized that pausing our services is the only way to protect the long-term future of Gofere Travels.
It wasn’t just individual travelers we were helping. We also worked closely with companies to manage their travel needs, ensuring that their employees had proper accommodations, meals, and transportation. We streamlined the process for companies, eliminating the stress of travel expenses and reimbursements for their employees. While our direct services are paused, we will continue to assist businesses behind the scenes as much as possible.
This was not an easy decision to make. Gofere Travels was built from a deep passion for making travel accessible, fun, and seamless. We explored every option and worked tirelessly to keep things running. However, right now, pausing our operations is the best way to ensure we can come back better, stronger, and more equipped to serve our travelers when the time is right.
Although we are stepping back from both personal and business travel services for the time being, this is not a goodbye. Gofere Travels will return, and when we do, we will come back with fresh energy, better solutions, and the same passion for making travel as simple as “tap and go.” Whether it’s reuniting with family or exploring far-off destinations, we will be here when our customers are ready to explore again.
